He was secretary general of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and former director of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). Pratap Bhanu Mehta is President of the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, and a leading columnist. Lt Gen. (Retd) Prakash Menon is Military Adviser in the National Security Council Secretariat, and was earlier commandant of the National Defence College, New Delhi. Nandan Nilekani was co-founder and former CEO of Infosys and was chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) till March 2014. Srinath Raghavan is Senior Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research and author of War and Peace in Modern India: A Strategic History of the Nehru Years, and most recently 1971: A Global History of the Creation of Bangladesh. Shyam Saran was foreign secretary of India and has served as the prime minister’s special adviser and envoy on nuclear issues and climate change. Formerly ambassador to Nepal, Myanmar and Indonesia, he is currently Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board. Siddharth Varadarajan is former editor of The Hindu, a leading commentator on foreign policy and has edited Gujarat: The Making of a Tragedy.
