Sameer Arshad Khatlani is a senior assistant editor with Hindustan Times. He has worked for the Indian Express and the Times of India since he began his career in journalism in 2005. Khatlani has reported from Pakistan and Iraq; he has also reported on the elections and the 2014 floods in Kashmir, among other issues. He has written features, besides writing opinion, analytical and explanatory pieces on religion, pacifism, Kashmir, the Middle East and Pakistan. He has a master's degree in history from New Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia and is a fellow with the Hawaii-based East West Center, established by the United States Congress in 1960 for strengthening ties between the US, Asia and the Pacific region.
