Tarashankar Bandopadhyay is the famous Bangla literature. He was awarded Gyanpeeth Award for Gandevta in 1966. He was awarded with Padmbhushan in 1969 by the Govt. of India for the literature and education. He was awarded with Sahitya Akadmi for his novel Aarogya Niketan in 1956.
