Editor or translator's bio: Radhika Chopra is the author of Amritsar 1984: A City Remembers and Militant and Migrant: The Politics and Social History of Punjab. She is deeply interested in visual cultures in the aftermath of violence, and some of her more recent journal articles in this field of interest include Seeing off the dead: Post-mortem photographs in the Darbar Sahib (2017; 1984-Disinterred Memories (2015) and A museum, a memorial, and a martyr: Politics of memory in the Sikh Golden Temple (2013). She teaches at the Department of Sociology of the Univeristy of Delhi.
