Vaishali Mathur oversees Penguin Swadesh, the Indian Language Publishing division at Penguin Random House India, with a strong emphasis on Hindi literature. Following the acquisition of Hind Pocket Books, she has strengthened Penguin’s Hindi publishing by acquiring and promoting works by celebrated authors like Narendra Kohli and Sumitra Nandan Pant. Vaishali manages the entire publishing program, including translations, marketing, sales, and rights management. She also expands commercial fiction and non-fiction for imprints like Penguin Metro Reads and Penguin Ananda, ensuring a vibrant and diverse literary portfolio that highlights regional Indian languages.
