On the Pickle Trail brings to focus the age old  practice of pickling, which is one of the oldest and healthiest methods of preserving and consuming vegetables and fruits.

In this book, Monish Gujral brings together a collection of 100 pickles to start you on your journey of pickling. These recipes are not only simple and easy to make, but also have innumerable health benefits. This book is a treasure trove of some of the best pickles from around the world and its objective is to revive the art of making pickles at home.

Monish says ‘Food is one common element which transcends all borders and connects everyone across the world.

While travelling and researching for my books, I found that though recipes and ingredients may differ from region to region and from country to country, they all have one soul.

Through this book, I want to advocate the importance of pickles in our diet and promote making them in your kitchens. Pickling has been a source of food preservation since centuries and the artisanal techniques of pickling & fermentation are the essence of this book.

So, set off ‘On the Pickle Trail’ with me and discover a world of heathy pickles that awaits you.

Bon Appetit!’

Vaishali Mathur, Publisher, Indian Language Publishing, Penguin Random House India, says ‘Monish’s vast experience as a restaurateur and his extensive travelling across the world in search of the best recipes, reflects in all his books. With The Pickle Trail he brings in the best of pickling and fermentation methods and recipes from across the world and makes them accessible for those who want to start up on this extraordinary food process.’
